Shola Amoo wrote and directed the feature THE LAST TREE, which premiered in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition section of the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. THE LAST TREE won Best Screenplay from The Writers Guild of Great Britain and two British Independent Film Awards. He previously directed the multimedia film A MOVING IMAGE, which received the Special Recognition Narrative award at The Blackstar Film Festival in Philadelphia. Shola is set to direct the Searchlight feature based on Leigh Montvilleβs novel βSting Like a Bee: Muhammed Ali vs. The United States of Americaβ that centers on Muhammed Aliβs refusal to be inducted into the US Army during the Vietnam War. He is developing a variety of projects across Film and TV.
